The Expo which is a grand event for manufacturers of machineries, equipments and raw material producers; has a confirmed attendance of over 500, exhibitors and visitors from across the globe and has the capacity to effectively transform the manufacturing industry while also creating viable platforms for business opportunities.
During the press briefing, DR. Frank Udemba Jacobs,MON, president, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) expressed his enthusiasm about the event and believes the expo will be bigger and better, especially with the infusion of the NIRAM Expo. He further revealed that the event which was carved out in response to Government’s commitment to industrialization and its quest to diversify the economy, will provide more veritable platform for SME’s to learn processes on how to boost their output, reduce cost, drive quality improvement, manufacture for new market and also secure funding for growth. He reiterated the success of the 2016 edition which was evident I the testament of participants across various sectors of the economy. He concluded his remarks by encouraging stakeholders to actively participate in the exhibition to be exposed to the entire value chain and opportunity for medium size corporations to retool, secure local sources of raw materials to boost production and reduce cost and time of procurement.
According to the Director General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), DR. H. D. Ibrahim revealed that the infusion of NME and NIRAM Expo promises to be the largest assembly of raw materials producers and users, an avenue to source for financial support and other relevant resources to promote productivity. He emphasized that the NIRAM Expo is a flagship programme of RMRDC to provide synergy among stakeholders in the raw materials value chain aimed at enhancing local raw materials for manufacturing, conducive atmosphere for trading in raw materials value chain by constituting Business-Business meetings among interested parties.
Dele Alimi, Managing Director, Clarion Events West Africa declared that the recent infusion of the NIRAM Expo into the NME would afford several companies and countries who have registered as exhibitors and visitors to the expo, a rare opportunity of exposure to the entire manufacturing value chain, which will include machinery, equipment, financial support, professional consultancy and now raw material.
“The NME during its first edition in April 2016 was the most comprehensive manufacturing exhibition in Nigeria as attested to, by the participants. It is a veritable platform for SMEs who wants to boost their output, reduce cost, drive quality improvement, manufacture for new market and also secure funding for growth.
It would also provide opportunities for the medium and large size corporations to retool and get local sources of raw materials to boost production and reduce cost and time of procurement”
He added that with Manufacturers Association of Nigeria being the Event Patron for the NME and the Raw Material Research & Development Council being the Event Patron for the NIRAM Expo and two major federal government ministries, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investments and the Federal Ministry of Science Technology being the Host Ministries, a major confluence of ideas and solutions to move Nigeria’s industrial sector forward would be brought to the fore.
